As a high school student, I was introduced to a spiritual retreat by the name of “Kairos” which stripped us of our electronic devices, outside influences, distractions, and asked us to focus our energy on better understanding ourselves, our relationship with God and other people, and our purpose. We prayed together, shared life experiences, cried together, and wrote letters to ourselves about our purpose and the understanding we gained about ourselves during the retreat. We say “Live the Fourth” as the fourth day of the retreat was the culmination of this transcendent experience.

I left for college, and gradually developed a false sense of my purpose, one ingrained in financial gain, corporate status, titles and accomplishments, and notoriety. I was defining success by the terms set by society, and despite yielding success in those areas, I felt a massive void, a lack of direction, and sense of unhappiness. So, in desperation, I went back and practiced a modified version of the Kairos program, which led me to a better understanding of my purpose, myself, and my spiritual relationship as the man I am today.

I know there are people and communities that are or have experienced the same unfulfillment and lack of direction that I lived. My goal, my purpose, is to help them out of that space by engaging, empowering, and encouraging others to “Flip the Switch”, chase what’s yours, and live a purpose-driven life.
